Come Away (Part 1)

Come away, come away in the mist and the dark,
To the forbidden wild,
Come away, little child.
Come where the wind and the rain blow free,
Heed the siren song from the ancient tree,
Heed the cunning call of the serpents plea,
Come little child, come away.

Come away, come away, while the rest lay asleep.
Latch the door as you go,
Come away, they won't know.
The goblins and fairies and brownies await,
To lead you triumphant behind the broad gate,
To pour the libations and fill up your plate,
Come little child, come away.

Come away, come away, cross the damp river bridge,
Take your shoes off and run,
Come away, little one.
Forget all the others still tucked into bed,
Forget all the myths that they birthed in your head,
Keep your eyes to the moon, your delights are ahead,
Just come, little child, come away.

Cross the bridge, cross the Styx, come and follow our tricks!
Leave the others behind, let them sleep and stay blind.
Come with us and you'll know what was known from the tree,
All secrets, all magic, every grand mystery.

So eat and be merry! Forsake your restraint!
Test for yourself whether our ways will taint.
You will be wisest, for you will see all,
The virtue, the horror, the triumph, the fall.
